Every conversation in AMBER is a thread. You can organise, label, and manage your threads to keep your work structured.

Thread Labels

Assign labels to categorise your threads:
  • Questions — Threads where you’re seeking information
  • Reflections — Exploratory or brainstorming conversations
  • Collaborations — Working sessions with AI
  • Decisions — Threads that led to specific decisions

Folders

Organise threads into folders for better structure:
  1. Create a folder — Click the folder icon in the Chats sidebar to create a new folder.
  2. Nest folders — Create sub-folders by dragging a folder into another.
  3. Move threads — Drag and drop threads into folders to organise them.

Renaming Threads

Click on the thread title or use the context menu to rename a thread. AMBER auto-generates a title based on your first message, but you can change it to something more descriptive.

Archiving

Archive threads you no longer need but want to keep:
  • Archive — Right-click a thread and select Archive to move it out of your active list.
  • Unarchive — Access archived threads and restore them to your active list.

Forking Threads

Fork a thread to create a branch from a specific message:
  1. Hover over a message in the conversation.
  2. Click the Fork option.
  3. A new thread is created starting from that point, preserving the conversation history up to that message.
This is useful when you want to explore a different direction without losing your original conversation.

Searching Threads

Use the search function (Ctrl+K / Cmd+K) to find threads by title or content.

Deleting Threads

To permanently delete a thread, right-click it and select Delete. This action cannot be undone.
